A New Policy PAC Endorses Dr. Adam Hamawy
FOR IMEDIATE RELEASE:
Today, A New Policy PAC nnounced its official endorsement of Dr. Adam Hamawy for U.S. Congress in New Jersey’s 12th District. This endorsement marks Dr. Hamawy’s first organizational endorsement, and the continuation of A New Policy PAC’s efforts to support leaders who prioritize a just and lasting peace in the Middle East and a foreign policy rooted in American values.
“Dr. Adam Hamawy has spent his life serving to keep people safe, first as a combat surgeon treating our troops in Iraq, and most recently saving lives on the front lines in Gaza,” said Tariq Habash, Director and Co-Founder of A New Policy. “He is a proven leader who will fight for the residents of NJ-12 with the same integrity and courage he has shown throughout his career. Dr. Adam is the right leader to carry forward the legacy of Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman and prioritize the needs of his community over foreign interests.”
“I’ve spent decades volunteering in countries facing war and humanitarian disasters, and I’ve seen firsthand the consequences of a foreign policy that prioritizes the suffering of communities abroad over the wellbeing of communities at home. Now more than ever, we need leaders who will ensure that America’s role on the global stage reflects our stated values of equality, justice, and prosperity for all. I’m grateful to A New Policy for leading this work, and I’m honored to have their endorsement as we work towards a more just foreign policy.” Said Adam Hamawy, candidate for New Jersey’s 12th District.
A Life Dedicated to Saving Lives
A New Policy is endorsing Hamawy because of his lifelong commitment to service. A retired U.S. Army Lt. Colonel and combat trauma surgeon, Dr. Adam has spent decades treating patients in disaster zones from Iraq to Haiti. In May 2024, he volunteered at the European Hospital in Gaza, witnessing the overwhelming civilian toll of the conflict. He recognizes that our current strategy of unconditional military aid is a moral and strategic failure. As a physician and veteran,Dr. Adam is running to ensure that American resources are used to protect life and invest in the health and safety of New Jersey families, rather than underwriting humanitarian catastrophes abroad.
Bridging the Divide Between Voters and Washington
Polls consistently show that a majority of Americans, including an overwhelming majority of the base of the Democratic Party and a growing segment of the Republican base, support a balanced U.S. policy toward the Middle East. Yet, elected officials have not kept up with this sea change in America’s public opinion. American voters are clear: they do not want to be complicit in humanitarian catastrophe, and a majority want an end to the transfer of lethal weapons that are used to kill Palestinian civilians. A New Policy is harnessing the collective power of these Americans from all backgrounds and turning that demand for change into real political influence.
About A New Policy PAC
A New Policy PAC is a political action committee that supports candidates who stand for a new U.S. policy toward Israel and Palestine that advances American interests and reflects American values.
A New Policy is committed to supporting candidates who champion a new vision for foreign policy. A New Policy believes that U.S. policy toward Israel and Palestine must:
Advance American National Security: Policies should serve U.S. interests in the Middle East and contribute to peace and prosperity for all Americans.
Reflect American Values: Policy must be rooted in freedom, equality, and human rights, enhancing the welfare of all peoples.
Comply with American Law: This includes strict adherence to laws and regulations governing the transfer of arms equally to all countries in the Middle East, including Israel.
Protect Civil Rights: The PAC opposes any laws or policies that repress free speech or limit Americans’ abilities to exercise their constitutional freedoms regarding foreign policy debate.
